This is one of the marvels of the nature that I have the chance of having visited, an important river for the history of occident mentioned many times in the Bible and other ancient writings, for many it is the biggest river in the world, for other it is only a historical river, it doesn’t matter, the case is that this river was essential for the bloom of the Egyptian culture, without this river it had never been possible to build an empire.  

The Nile is so big that it is not possible to cross it in a single trip, of course I never intended that because I had little time to visit it, I took a tour that included a trip through the Nile and then the visit to other archaeological places, in spite of the short of the visit, I admit that it was something unforgettable because, this is one of this places everybody talks about and in al languages of the world, in many traditions, stories, films, etc... but is is also a place that few of us have visited.  

I took a boat that offered a 2 hours ride with the food included; there was also a short animation. During the trip I could appreciate the city of the Cairo that is located to both sides of the river, it gave me the impression of being an enormous conglomerate, in other times the main interest of being close to the river was to take advantage of all the benefits that the water could give to people in such a not very friendly atmosphere for the life cause the other option was to life in the dessert.  

It is not difficult to imagine the importance of this river in a world based in the agriculture, nowadays it should be of similar importance from the ecological point of view, I am more than for sure this internal sea has an enormous impact in all the forms of life that depend direct or indirectly of it, included the man; since the Nile crosses great part of the African continent.  

Regrettably the part of the Nile that I could visit gave the impression of not being very clean, I could se a lot of garbage in the costs of the river, in most of the cities that have a river that cross them there is more or less pollution. But in this case the Nil doesn’t belong to Egypt only, many countries share it, which demands a shared responsibility and effort in order to avoid an ecological catastrophe in the years to come.

I hope that the human been will revert this damage in order to keep this wonderful river for the generations to come.
